Short Description   Araucarian Complex microphyll to notophyll vine forest on Mesozoic to Proterozoic igneous rocks

Notes  

Comments   12.12.13: Characteristic localities for RE include hills near Somerset Dam, Burnett Range between Goomeri and Biggenden, Mount Perry and Bucca Range. Remnants can be degraded by weed infestation in conjunction with wildfire damage on margins.

Special Values   12.12.13: Habitat for threatened plant species including Sarcochilus weinthalii, Corynocarpus rupestris subsp. arborescens and near threatened species including Hernandia bivalvis.

Fraser Coast Region Distribution   All mapped areas close to the south-west boundary of the region.

Long Description   Microphyll and microphyll/notophyll vine forest +/- Araucaria cunninghamii. Characteristic species include Dendrocnide photiniphylla, Diospyros geminata, Drypetes deplanchei, Ficus virens, Cryptocarya bidwillii, Planchonella myrsinifolia, Vitex lignum-vitae, Hernandia bivalvis, Croton acronychioides, Flindersia spp. Olea paniculata, Excoecaria dallachyana, Gossia bidwillii and on northern half of bioregion Vitex acuminata, Archidendropsis thozetiana, Pleiogynium timorense and Cupaniopsis simulata. Occurs on Mesozoic to Proterozoic igneous rocks. Not a Wetland. (BVG1M: 2a).
