Naturalised in Wide Bay district. Native on Cape York peninsula only (Queensland Flora Census 2022). This species appears to have escaped from cultivation in the region. In some locations individual trees are very large and old. Deciduous.
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
Reported at 10 Fraser Coast localities: Point Vernon, Maryborough, Bauple, Talegalla Weir, Walkers Point, Teddington, Tinana, Yengarie, St Mary, Tiaro.
