Species information

Alloteropsis semialata   (R.Br.) Hitchc.

This native groundcover is commonly known as cockatoo grass.

Alloteropsis semialata is described as a "monocot" in the Poaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 35 Fraser Coast localities: Booral, Pacific Haven, Urraween, Burrum Heads, Burrum River, Wondunna, Susan River, Takura, Urangan, Point Vernon, Prawle, Duckinwilla, Cherwell, Burgowan, Yengarie, Doongul, Glenwood, Dunmora, Beelbi Creek, Poona, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Tinana, Tuan Forest, St Mary, Walligan, K'gari, Tiaro, Bauple Forest, Granville, Gootchie, Sunshine Acres, Teebar, Maryborough West, Boonooroo Plains.
