Species information

Embelia australiana   (F.Muell.) F.M.Bailey

This native vine or climber is commonly known as embelia.

Embelia australiana is described as a "dicot" in the Myrsinaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Leaves with large clear oil dots and streaks. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 28 Fraser Coast localities: Dundathu, Craignish, Dundowran Beach, Duckinwilla, Nikenbah, Dundowran, K'gari, River Heads, Howard, Urraween, Kanigan, Torbanlea, Booral, Magnolia, Gigoomgan, Bauple, Teddington, Tinana, Talegalla Weir, Bauple Forest, Boompa, Tuan Forest, Takura, Yerra, Malarga, St Mary, Mount Urah, Doongul.
