Species information

Urena lobata   L. WEED

This introduced shrub is commonly known as urena burr.

Urena lobata is described as a "dicot" in the Malvaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is not classified as it is not native to Queensland. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 25 Fraser Coast localities: Dundowran Beach, Toogoom, Point Vernon, Tiaro, Craignish, Island Plantation, Kawungan, Mount Urah, Wondunna, River Heads, Tinana, Tuan Forest, Howard, Bauple, Talegalla Weir, Bidwill, Tinana South, Takura, Walligan, Bauple Forest, St Mary, Owanyilla, Urraween, Beelbi Creek, Maryborough.
