Species information

Crinum arenarium   Herb.

This native groundcover is commonly known as field lily.

Crinum arenarium is described as a "monocot" in the Amaryllidaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Anthers purple or black (Stanley and Ross. 1989. Flora of south-eastern Queensland Volume III). Habitat in seasonally inundated coastal areas (Glenn Leiper, Jan Glazebrook, Denis Cox & Kerry Rathie. 2025. Mangroves to Mountains, Fourth Edition). Previously known as Crinum angustifolium (Queensland Flora Census 2016). Listed as a special least concern species in Queensland (https://www.qld.gov.au/environment/plants-animals/plants/protected-plants/harvesting). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 9 Fraser Coast localities: Yengarie, Urangan, Beelbi Creek, River Heads, Bidwill, Teddington, Magnolia, Granville, Gootchie.
