Listed as native to north Queensland in the Queensland Flora Census. Naturalised beyond its native range in south-eastern Queensland. A weed of riparian vegetation, forest margins, urban bushland, roadsides, disturbed sites and waste areas (https://weeds.brisbane.qld.gov.au/weeds/pongamia). In Plants of the World Online known as Pongamia pinnata.
It has not been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is not
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
