Species information

Cymbopogon refractus   (R.Br.) A.Camus

This native groundcover is commonly known as barbed-wire grass.

Cymbopogon refractus is described as a "monocot" in the Poaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 52 Fraser Coast localities: Takura, Dundathu, Pacific Haven, Craignish, Booral, Burrum Heads, Wondunna, Urangan, Point Vernon, Prawle, Duckinwilla, Walliebum, Great Sandy Strait, Yengarie, Kanigan, Torbanlea, Pialba, Dundowran Beach, River Heads, Kawungan, Glenwood, Walligan, Toogoom, Mount Urah, Bidwill, Yerra, Antigua, Gigoomgan, Bauple, Tinana, Poona, Tuan Forest, Teddington, Tiaro, Talegalla Weir, Boompa, Magnolia, K'gari, St Mary, Walkers Point, Doongul, Granville, Malarga, Paterson, Maryborough, Gootchie, Bauple Forest, Woocoo, Owanyilla, Sunshine Acres, Teebar, Maryborough West.
