Native to north Queensland. This species is becoming naturalised beyond its native range in south-eastern Queensland (Weeds of Queensland Biosecurity Queensland Edition). Recorded outside of the Fraser Coast region south of Gympie and north of Mackay.
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
