Species information

Gaudium semibaccatum   (Cheel) Peter G.Wilson

This native shrub is commonly known as wallum tea-tree.

Gaudium semibaccatum is described as a "dicot" in the Myrtaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Replaces Leptospermum semibaccatum (Queensland Flora Census 2023). https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/136250859 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 12 Fraser Coast localities: Tuan Forest, Tinnanbar, Boonooroo Plains, Beelbi Creek, Poona, Sunshine Acres, Tin Can Bay, K'gari, Toogoom, Tinana, Burrum Heads, Pacific Haven.
