In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern.
Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.
Restricted distribution within small areas of limited ecosystems often in association with protected species Macrozamia pauli-guilielmi and Acacia attenuata. Recorded on Fraser Island, Tuan and Tin Can Bay. Also reported at Tinana Creek, Tuan Forest, Bauple Forest, Poona and Tinnanbar. At the northern limit in the Fraser Coast region apart from two records just to the north on the Gregory and Elliot Rivers. Previously known as Eucalyptus signata (Australian Plant Census). According to Australian Plant Census subspecies are no longer recognised.
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
Reported at 11 Fraser Coast localities: Sunshine Acres, Urangan, Poona, Tuan Forest, Teddington, Talegalla Weir, Bauple Forest, Tinnanbar, K'gari, St Mary, Boonooroo Plains.
