Species information

Ficus opposita   Miq.

This native shrub is commonly known as sandpaper fig.

Ficus opposita is described as a "dicot" in the Moraceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 48 Fraser Coast localities: Takura, Dundowran Beach, Booral, River Heads, Craignish, Urraween, Burrum Heads, Toogoom, Torquay, Point Vernon, Duckinwilla, Tiaro, Dundowran, Yengarie, Howard, Doongul, Kanigan, Pialba, Glenwood, Mount Urah, Granville, Bidwill, Gigoomgan, Island Plantation, Tuan, Bauple, Boonooroo, Teddington, Tinana, Tinnanbar, Boompa, Maryborough, Malarga, Pioneers Rest, Urangan, Yerra, St Mary, Eli Waters, Scarness, Walkers Point, Gundiah, Great Sandy Strait, Talegalla Weir, Tinana South, Poona, Boonooroo Plains, Owanyilla, Teebar.
