Species information

Fuirena ciliaris   (L.) Roxb.

This native groundcover is commonly known as umbrella grass.

Fuirena ciliaris is described as a "monocot" in the Cyperaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 16 Fraser Coast localities: River Heads, Walliebum, Burrum Heads, Talegalla Weir, Doongul, Tinnanbar, Tuan Forest, Walligan, Boonooroo Plains, Mount Urah, Bidwill, Teddington, Sunshine Acres, Urraween, Maryborough West, Beelbi Creek.
