Species information

Glochidion sumatranum   Miq.

This native tree is commonly known as umbrella cheese tree.

Glochidion sumatranum is described as a "dicot" in the Phyllanthaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

In Plants of the world Online now known as Glochidion zeylanicum var. zeylanicum.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 28 Fraser Coast localities: Booral, Dundowran Beach, Toogoom, Torquay, Craignish, Burrum Heads, Tuan Forest, Bidwill, Yerra, Bauple, Poona, Tiaro, Magnolia, Tinnanbar, Teddington, Pioneers Rest, Maryborough, Kawungan, Tinana, Owanyilla, Boonooroo Plains, Wondunna, St Mary, Mount Urah, Urangan, Granville, Beaver Rock, Duckinwilla.
