Species information

Lantana camara   L. WEED

This introduced shrub is commonly known as lantana.

Lantana camara is described as a "dicot" in the Verbenaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is not classified as it is not native to Queensland. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

A category 3 restricted invasive plant under the Biosecurity Act 2014. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 71 Fraser Coast localities: Booral, Takura, Dundowran Beach, Dundathu, River Heads, Urangan, Dundowran, Craignish, Sunshine Acres, Yengarie, Pacific Haven, Urraween, Wondunna, Toogoom, Torquay, Point Vernon, Duckinwilla, Nikenbah, Tiaro, Prawle, Great Sandy Strait, Kawungan, Howard, Doongul, Kanigan, Torbanlea, Pialba, Glenwood, Walligan, Beelbi Creek, Mount Urah, Maryborough, Tuan Forest, Granville, Bidwill, Magnolia, Teddington, Yerra, Gigoomgan, Bauple, Glenorchy, Gootchie, Gundiah, Island Plantation, Gunalda, Mungar, Paterson, Tinana, Poona, Malarga, Talegalla Weir, Bauple Forest, Tinnanbar, Boompa, Tandora, Owanyilla, K'gari, Burrum Town, Eli Waters, Walkers Point, Brooweena, St Mary, Burrum Heads, Tinana South, Woocoo, Glenbar, Gungaloon, Boonooroo Plains, Beaver Rock, Antigua, Teebar.
