Species information

Alectryon tomentosus   (F.Muell.) Radlk.

This native tree is commonly known as hairy birds-eye.

Alectryon tomentosus is described as a "dicot" in the Sapindaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Flowering Yengarie July 2016. Immature fruit Burrum Heads August 2016. Mature fruit Magnolia March 2024. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 31 Fraser Coast localities: Dundowran Beach, Craignish, Aldershot, Duckinwilla, Tiaro, Dundowran, River Heads, Yengarie, Howard, Burrum Heads, Kanigan, Granville, Bidwill, Magnolia, Yerra, Gigoomgan, Bauple, Teddington, Maryborough, Boompa, Malarga, Owanyilla, Doongul, St Mary, Talegalla Weir, Eli Waters, Mount Urah, Takura, Tinana, Gootchie, Glenwood.
