Previously known as Leucopogon leptospermoides (Queensland Flora Census 2020).
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
Reported at 16 Fraser Coast localities: Burrum Heads, Toogoom, Urangan, Craignish, Beelbi Creek, Poona, Teddington, Tinana, Tinnanbar, K'gari, Mount Urah, Boonooroo Plains, Tuan Forest, Tin Can Bay, Takura, St Mary.
