Species information

Mallotus philippensis   (Lam.) Muell.Arg.

This native tree is commonly known as red kamala.

Mallotus philippensis is described as a "dicot" in the Euphorbiaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 52 Fraser Coast localities: Booral, Dundowran Beach, Takura, River Heads, Craignish, Toogoom, Point Vernon, Duckinwilla, Urraween, Tiaro, Dundowran, Howard, Kanigan, Glenwood, Pialba, Burrum Heads, Mount Urah, Bidwill, Magnolia, Yerra, Gigoomgan, Bauple, Glenorchy, Gootchie, Teddington, Island Plantation, Maryborough West, Tinana, Poona, Talegalla Weir, Malarga, Boompa, Tuan Forest, Maryborough, Doongul, Pioneers Rest, Urangan, Owanyilla, St Mary, Eli Waters, Scarness, Torquay, Gundiah, Brooweena, Yengarie, Dundathu, Tinana South, Netherby, Glenbar, Bauple Forest, Woocoo, Teebar.
