Species information

Gynochthodes canthoides   (F.Muell.) Razafim. & B.Bremer

This native vine or climber is commonly known as veiny morinda.

Gynochthodes canthoides is described as a "dicot" in the Rubiaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Previously known as Morinda acutifolia and Morinda canthoides (Australian Plant Name Index). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 15 Fraser Coast localities: Craignish, Duckinwilla, Urraween, River Heads, Howard, Bauple, Takura, Teddington, Malarga, Doongul, Dundowran Beach, Mount Urah, St Mary, Brooweena, Magnolia.
