Species information

Notothixos incanus   (Hook.) Oliv.

This native epiphyte is commonly known as downy mistletoe.

Notothixos incanus is described as a "dicot" in the Viscaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Australia's Virtual Herbarium records to the north, south and west. Also reported at Talegalla Weir. Hosts include Melaleuca spp. (http://plantnet.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au - accessed 16/02/2017). Reported hosts in Fraser Coast region Melaleuca linariifolia and Melaleuca styphelioides. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 4 Fraser Coast localities: Tuan Forest, Burrum Heads, Point Vernon, Tinana.
