Species information

Notothixos subaureus   Oliv.

This native epiphyte is commonly known as golden mistletoe.

Notothixos subaureus is described as a "dicot" in the Viscaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Also reported at Maryborough (2011). An epiparasite with host species Amyema cambagei (Tin Can Bay), Dendrophthoe vitellina (Talegalla Wier), Notothixos incanus (Talegalla Wier) and Viscum articulatum (Yengarie). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 12 Fraser Coast localities: Tinnanbar, Eli Waters, Talegalla Weir, Yengarie, Dundowran Beach, Poona, Tinana South, K'gari, Tinana, Takura, Bauple, Maryborough.
