In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern.
Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.
See Pavetta australiensis var. australiensis. The type variety is the only variety recorded in the Fraser Coast region.
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
Reported at 21 Fraser Coast localities: Dundowran Beach, Craignish, Booral, Duckinwilla, Howard, Bidwill, Gigoomgan, Bauple, Teddington, Talegalla Weir, Magnolia, Malarga, Bauple Forest, Boompa, Tuan Forest, Doongul, St Mary, River Heads, Mount Urah, Takura, Owanyilla.
