Plants of the Fraser Coast Region

This native shrub is commonly known as tiny wattle.

Acacia baueri subsp. baueri is described as a "dicot" in the Leguminosae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Vulnerable. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Distribution south from vicinity of Woodgate in coastal sandy areas of Wide Bay and Moreton districts including K'gari (Fraser Island). Often overlooked due to small size. Most easily identified when flowering. After a hot bushfire at Tinnanbar in November 2018 seem to be in larger numbers than pre burn (Gary Brooks). ‘Back on Track’ priority plant species for the Burnett Mary NRM region. Also reported at Poona (https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/111744285) Regarded as a wetland species in Queensland WetlandInfo.

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
