Species information

Angophora leiocarpa   (L.A.S.Johnson ex G.J.Leach) K.R.Thiele & Ladiges

This native tree is commonly known as smooth-barked apple.

Angophora leiocarpa is described as a "dicot" in the Myrtaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

In SEQ replaces Angophora costata (QBRI Jessup 2002). Also known as rusty gum. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 57 Fraser Coast localities: Booral, Takura, Urangan, Sunshine Acres, Pacific Haven, Craignish, Walligan, Point Vernon, Burrum Heads, Burrum River, Susan River, Wondunna, Torquay, Duckinwilla, Cherwell, Burgowan, Walliebum, Prawle, Dundowran, Tandora, Nikenbah, Yengarie, Doongul, Howard, Glenwood, Dunmora, Beelbi Creek, Toogoom, Poona, Mount Urah, Walkers Point, Beaver Rock, Bidwill, Teddington, Yerra, Antigua, Bauple, Glenorchy, Island Plantation, Gunalda, River Heads, Talegalla Weir, Tuan Forest, Bauple Forest, Magnolia, Tinana, St Mary, Boonooroo Plains, Owanyilla, Granville, Paterson, Brooweena, Boompa, Glenbar, Maryborough, Teebar, Maryborough West.
