Naturalised in Hervey Bay and Maryborough areas and along Mary River and lower Tinana Creek. Forming dense stands in some areas.
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
Reported at 31 Fraser Coast localities: Booral, Dundathu, Dundowran Beach, Yengarie, Urraween, Toogoom, Point Vernon, Prawle, Nikenbah, Tiaro, Kawungan, Howard, River Heads, Maryborough, Granville, Walkers Point, Bidwill, Glenorchy, Gootchie, Tinana, Island Plantation, Bauple, Paterson, Teddington, Maryborough West, Talegalla Weir, Boompa, Pioneers Rest, Susan River, Owanyilla, Mount Urah.
