Species information

Solanum stelligerum   Sm.

This native shrub is commonly known as devils needles.

Solanum stelligerum is described as a "dicot" in the Solanaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 38 Fraser Coast localities: Dundowran, Pacific Haven, Craignish, Booral, Wondunna, Susan River, Takura, Urraween, Prawle, Duckinwilla, River Heads, Howard, Yengarie, Kawungan, Urangan, Mount Urah, Bidwill, Teddington, Yerra, Antigua, Glenorchy, Tinana, Bauple, Malarga, Talegalla Weir, Magnolia, Boompa, Tuan Forest, Tandora, Owanyilla, Doongul, Walkers Point, Gundiah, St Mary, Burrum Heads, Tinana South, Point Vernon, Tiaro.
