Species information

Stephania japonica var. discolor   (Thunb.) Miers

This native vine or climber is commonly known as tape vine.

Stephania japonica var. discolor is described as a "dicot" in the Menispermaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 39 Fraser Coast localities: River Heads, Urangan, Dundowran Beach, Point Vernon, Toogoom, Torquay, Duckinwilla, Tiaro, K'gari, Howard, Craignish, Kanigan, Glenwood, Burrum Heads, Granville, Bidwill, Teddington, Yerra, Gigoomgan, Bauple, Great Sandy Strait, Poona, Bauple Forest, Magnolia, Tinnanbar, Talegalla Weir, Tuan Forest, Boompa, Tandora, Yengarie, Eli Waters, St Mary, Mount Urah, Gundiah, Wondunna, Booral, Gootchie, Owanyilla, Urraween.
