leafless mistletoe.
Viscum articulatum
is described as a "dicot"
in the
Viscaceae
family.
In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern.
Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.
An epiparasite which uses other mistletoe species as hosts, most commonly Notothixos (https://www.anbg.gov.au). In the Fraser Coast region reported hosts are Dendrophthoe vitellina, Amyema congener subsp. congener, Dendropthoe glabrescens, Vitellina sp. and Diplatia furcata.
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
Reported at 15 Fraser Coast localities: Yengarie, Walligan, Urangan, Island Plantation, Tinnanbar, Tuan Forest, Talegalla Weir, Walliebum, Poona, Tinana South, Point Vernon, Gootchie, Sunshine Acres, Beelbi Creek, Maryborough.
