Species information

Lomandra longifolia   Labill.

This native groundcover is commonly known as spinyhead matrush.

Lomandra longifolia is described as a "monocot" in the Laxmanniaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 70 Fraser Coast localities: Dundowran Beach, Urangan, Booral, Pacific Haven, Craignish, Burrum River, Burrum Heads, Wondunna, Toogoom, Torquay, Point Vernon, Prawle, Duckinwilla, Urraween, Sunshine Acres, Tiaro, Howard, Yengarie, Doongul, Torbanlea, Kanigan, Walligan, Pialba, Bauple Forest, Glenwood, Beelbi Creek, Mount Urah, Bidwill, Yerra, River Heads, Poona, Tuan Forest, Walkers Point, Beaver Rock, Magnolia, Teddington, Antigua, Gigoomgan, Bauple, Glenorchy, Tinana, Island Plantation, Tuan, Gunalda, Paterson, Great Sandy Strait, Talegalla Weir, Tinnanbar, Boompa, Takura, Tandora, Maryborough, Malarga, K'gari, Burrum Town, Aldershot, Pioneers Rest, Susan River, Owanyilla, Eli Waters, Kawungan, Gundiah, Boonooroo Plains, Granville, St Mary, Walliebum, Gootchie, Teebar, Dunmora, Maryborough West.
