Was split from Baeckea virgata (New South Wales Flora Online). Previously known as Babingtonia collina (Australian Plant Census). Not recorded in the Fraser Coast region. The nearest record is at Mt Walsh.
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
