Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.
A relatively recent arrival in the Fraser Coast region but spreading rapidly. Similar to Ageratum houstonianum but has less numerous larger teeth on leaf edges and a more pungent smell when leaves are crushed. Stems and pedicels hirsute (Weeds of Australia, Biosecurity edition website). As at 01/07/2016 listed as a non-declared environmental weed in the Fraser Coast region.
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
Reported at 35 Fraser Coast localities: Dundowran Beach, Toogoom, River Heads, Magnolia, Doongul, Duckinwilla, Tuan Forest, Bauple Forest, Talegalla Weir, Howard, Burrum Heads, Tinana, Maryborough, Walligan, Mount Urah, Yengarie, Takura, Tinana South, St Mary, Glenbar, Point Vernon, Urangan, Tiaro, Boonooroo Plains, Boompa, Craignish, Woocoo, Owanyilla, Sunshine Acres, Antigua, Teebar, Urraween, Maryborough West, Beelbi Creek, Teddington.
