Species information

Oplismenus imbecillis   (R Br.) Roem & Schult

This native groundcover is commonly known as Australian basket-grass.

Oplismenus imbecillis is described as a "monocot" in the Poaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Outside of Queensland and New South Wales known as Oplismenus hirtellus. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 23 Fraser Coast localities: Booral, Point Vernon, Kanigan, Craignish, Dundowran Beach, Toogoom, Bidwill, Yerra, Glenorchy, Bauple, Teddington, River Heads, Tiaro, Talegalla Weir, K'gari, Tuan Forest, Poona, Takura, St Mary, Urangan, Bauple Forest, Owanyilla, Magnolia.
