Species information

Gossia punctata   N.Snow & Guymer

This native tree is commonly known as dotted myrtle.

Gossia punctata is described as a "dicot" in the Myrtaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Critically Endangered. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

One Fraser Coast region record at Mt Bauple which is the northern limit of the species.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
