Natural distribution in Australia is limited to north Queensland (Queensland Flora Census). Commonly planted in the Fraser Coast region and also spread by birds.
It has not been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
Reported at 11 Fraser Coast localities: Eli Waters, Tinana, Dundowran Beach, Howard, Maryborough, Booral, Urangan, Pialba, Point Vernon, Toogoom, Urraween.
