Grows in deep sandy soils in eucalypt forest of coastal lowlands often adjacent to heathlands. Most inflorescences three flowered (Austrobaileya Vol 5. Number 2 1999).
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
Reported at 22 Fraser Coast localities: Burrum River, Aldershot, Duckinwilla, Craignish, Howard, Walligan, Bidwill, Beelbi Creek, Yerra, Tiaro, Talegalla Weir, Bauple Forest, Magnolia, Tuan Forest, Boompa, Yengarie, St Mary, Mount Urah, Burrum Heads, Bauple, Takura, Teddington.
