Species information

Machaerina articulata   (R.Br.) T.Koyama

This native aquatic plant is commonly known as jointed twigrush.

Machaerina articulata is described as a "monocot" in the Cyperaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Previously known as Baumea articulata (Queensland Flora Census 2020). Regarded as a wetland species in Queensland WetlandInfo.

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 26 Fraser Coast localities: Burrum River, Burrum Heads, Toogoom, Craignish, Walligan, Dundowran Beach, Beelbi Creek, Walkers Point, Beaver Rock, Bidwill, Teddington, Yerra, Island Plantation, Talegalla Weir, Walliebum, Bauple Forest, Tuan Forest, Tiaro, Duckinwilla, Urangan, Tandora, Owanyilla, Maryborough, Maryborough West, Tinana, Sunshine Acres.
