Species information

Machaerina teretifolia   (R.Br.) T.Koyama

This native groundcover is commonly known as twigrush.

Machaerina teretifolia is described as a "monocot" in the Cyperaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Previously known as Baumea teretifolia (Queensland Flora Census 2020).  Regarded as a wetland species in Queensland WetlandInfo.

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 8 Fraser Coast localities: Poona, Yerra, K'gari, Boonooroo Plains, Talegalla Weir, Tuan Forest, Granville, Burrum Heads.
