This native shrub
is commonly known as
white cliff bottlebrush.
Melaleuca formosa
is described as a "dicot"
in the
Myrtaceae
family.
In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Near Threatened.
Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.
Recorded just outside the Fraser Coast region at Mt Walsh. Elsewhere distribution is form Tenterfield in the south to near Gladstone and west to the Carnarvon National Park. https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/153488343
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
