Species information

Callitris endlicheri   (Parl.) F.M.Bailey

This native tree is commonly known as black cypress pine.

Callitris endlicheri is described as a "conifer" in the Cupressaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Uncommon species in the Fraser Coast region with unusual near coastal populations on Myrtle Creek sandstone (Peter Young) recorded at St Mary and Glenbar State Forest 4. Dorsal surface of leaves prominently keeled. Mature female cones with small dorsal point near apex (Stanley and Ross, 1989, Flora of South-eastern Queensland).  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 2 Fraser Coast localities: Mount Urah, St Mary.
