Previously known as Canthium lamprophyllum (Australian Plant Census). See Psydrax lamprophylla forma lamprophylla which is the only form known in the Fraser Coast region (Gwen Harden, Hugh Nicholson, Bill McDonald, Nan Nicholson, Terry Tame, John Williams. 2014. Rainforest Plants of Australia).
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
Reported at 12 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Malarga, Teddington, Magnolia, Boompa, Doongul, Craignish, Mount Urah, Takura, St Mary, Brooweena, Tuan Forest.
