Species information

Cyclophyllum coprosmoides var. coprosmoides   S.T.Reynolds & R.J.F.Hend.

This native tree is commonly known as coast canthium.

Cyclophyllum coprosmoides var. coprosmoides is described as a "dicot" in the Rubiaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Previously known as Canthium coprosmoides (S.T. Reynolds and R.J.F. Henderson Austrobaileya Vol. 6, No. 1 (2001), pp. 41-66). A very common shrub/small tree in the Fraser Coast region. Within or near rainforest and riparian areas.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 56 Fraser Coast localities: Booral, Dundathu, Craignish, Pacific Haven, Urraween, Burrum Heads, Burrum River, Wondunna, Susan River, Takura, Urangan, Prawle, Aldershot, Duckinwilla, River Heads, K'gari, Dundowran, Howard, Dundowran Beach, Yengarie, Kawungan, Kanigan, Bauple Forest, Glenwood, Beelbi Creek, Mount Urah, Toogoom, Granville, Walkers Point, Beaver Rock, Bidwill, Magnolia, Teddington, Yerra, Antigua, Bauple, Glenorchy, Tinana, Island Plantation, Mungar, Paterson, Maryborough, Poona, Talegalla Weir, Tiaro, Boompa, Tandora, St Mary, Doongul, Owanyilla, Walligan, Woocoo, Brooweena, Sunshine Acres, Point Vernon, Gootchie.
