Previously known as Centratherum punctatum subsp. australianum and Centratherum australianum (Australian Plant Census). Similar to the exotic Centratherum punctatum.
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
Reported at 6 Fraser Coast localities: Yengarie, Teddington, Talegalla Weir, St Mary, Tandora, Antigua.
