Acacia
leiocalyx subsp. herveyensis
Pedley
This native tree
is commonly known as
late flowering black wattle.
Acacia leiocalyx subsp. herveyensis
is described as a "dicot"
in the
Leguminosae
family.
In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern.
Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.
Narrow phyllodes, widest below the middle, long attenuate to the apex which is slightly thickened. Forms mixed stands with subsp. leiocalyx particularly between Bundaberg and Maryborough but stands out because of its narrower phyllodes and the fact that it flowers later (Austrobaileya Vol. 5 No. 2 1999).
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
Reported at 14 Fraser Coast localities: Duckinwilla, River Heads, Bidwill, Great Sandy Strait, Talegalla Weir, Urangan, Susan River, Burrum Heads, Tandora, Walligan, Pialba, Burgowan, Sunshine Acres, Takura.
