Species information

Chamaecrista rotundifolia var. rotundifolia   (Pers.) Greene WEED

This introduced groundcover is commonly known as Wynne cassia.

Chamaecrista rotundifolia var. rotundifolia is described as a "dicot" in the Leguminosae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is not classified as it is not native to Queensland. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Becoming more common in the region especially as a weed of road sides.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 22 Fraser Coast localities: Beelbi Creek, Teddington, Walkers Point, Talegalla Weir, Tinana, Yengarie, Bidwill, Walligan, Burrum Heads, Tandora, Tinana South, Tiaro, Bauple Forest, Tuan Forest, Owanyilla, Takura, Sunshine Acres, Antigua, Teebar, St Mary, Boompa, Gootchie.
