Species information

Commersonia bartramia   (L.) Merr.

This native tree is commonly known as brown kurrajong.

Commersonia bartramia is described as a "dicot" in the Byttneriaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Commersonia is included in the family Malvaceae in the Australian Plant Census. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 33 Fraser Coast localities: Craignish, Booral, Wondunna, Takura, Dundowran Beach, Duckinwilla, Nikenbah, Urraween, Dundowran, River Heads, Howard, Walligan, Bidwill, Pialba, Yengarie, Burrum Heads, Glenwood, Point Vernon, Magnolia, Teddington, Yerra, Bauple, Talegalla Weir, Tiaro, Bauple Forest, Tuan Forest, Susan River, Doongul, St Mary, Mount Urah, Kawungan, Tinana South, Boompa.
